Hello, I hope you have a pleasant time
looking through the galleries
As you look through the galleries please remember that you are looking at digital images.
These images may not be as colorful or brilliant as the original painting. Consider that
the images are at least two steps away from the original. Original to digital camera or
photo to scanner and then to the computer. Each step is an opportunity for loss. There
are many other factors to consider such as target file type and camera/scanner
resolution. But, these giver you some idea of how an image of a painting may degrade.
Wes At Work
My name is Wes Trigger.  The Oil Paintings in the galleries are my work spanning a period
of about 15 years. The ten or so years prior were spent learning how to produce paintings.
Most of these initial attempts have long since been destroyed except for the first two which
are a reminder to me of where I started.

I did not set out to become an artist. As they say "I had a day job" and turned to art as a
way of releasing tension accumulated performing my "day job". My "day Job" has long
since departed but art has remained and is now my work, but most certainly not a job. I
have been painting  with oil paint for twenty five or so years.
I have tried other media but I
found that they did  not satisfy me as do oil paint. However, now days, I often do
under-painting in acrylics.

I have often been asked what I like to paint most and from the display in the galleries it can
be seen that wildlife and florals are on the top of my list. Florals because I like to grow
things, especially Orchids. The Orchid paintings are from blossoms on plants in my
collection. Wildlife, just because these wild creatures are so beautiful to behold. I
particularly like to paint members of the feline family including the domesticated kind
which I have a few of and the wolf and some of their larger dog cousins.

What is most changeling for me to paint. Portraits of people are number one on the list.
Why you might ask. Think about it. There is little consistency of form, except basic skeletal
structure, and many variations of skin and eye color not to mention the changes brought
about by age and don't forget variable facial expression for all ages. Animals and flowers
are pretty straightforward but not us humans. Always a challenge to produce a reasonable
likeness. This would,  no doubt, be easier for me if I concentrated on portrait painting but....

Specialization has always appeared to me to be too limiting so, I will continue to be a
generalist and paint whatever strikes my fancy accepting the challenge of the moment.
